Dr Sharman and Dr McArdle are experienced independent medical assessors. As a specialist occupational physicians – Fellows of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, both doctors have broad knowledge and experience in occupational medicine in a variety of roles over many years. They can provide comprehensive, objective and evidence-based assessments for legal purposes.
Both Dr Sharman and Dr McArdle are active in clinical practice as treating practitioners, ensuring their opinions reflect current management practices for work-related injury and disease.
Dr Sharman has WorkCover accreditation to assess upper and lower extremity, spinal, nervous system, ENT (including hearing), respiratory and skin impairments. He can also provide an opinion about total impairment ratings taking into account other practitioners ratings for impairments for which he is not accredited e.g. psychiatric or visual impairments. Dr McArdle is accredited to assess respiratory impairment.
Dr Sharman has experience in giving expert evidence in the Workers Rehabilitation & Compensation Tribunal, Supreme Court and Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
On request, Dr McArdle and Dr Sharman can provide comprehensive reports on patients under their care.
