Further changes to practice arrangements are planned over the next few months.
Dr Peter Sharman
Dr Sharman no longer accept referrals of new patients from General Practitioners for assessment and/or ongoing management and plans to transfer the care of existing patients to other practitioners by 30 June 2022.
For existing patients, Dr Sharman will discuss appropriate care arrangements individually at appointments over the next 2 months. Arrangements will be made to ensure appropriate care for patients after 30 June 2022 when he plans to complete his withdrawal from clinical management/treatment of medically-referred patients.
Dr Sharman will continue in medico-legal and fitness-for-work practice accepting referrals from insurers, lawyers and employers. He will also continue to provide consulting services to employers, government and other organisations in relation to workplace health and safety hazard and rehabilitation management.
Dr Troy Crowell
Dr Crowell continues to provide assessments and ongoing management of medically-referred patients with a focus on rehabilitation for work-related and motor vehicle accident-related injuries and illness. His interests include the assessment and ongoing co-ordinated management of workers with musculoskeletal injuries, overuse disorders, health issues arising from workplace exposures and related occupational conditions.
Dr Crowell does not have capacity to accept referrals for assessment for entitlement to Centrelink or DVA benefits.
General Practitioner referrals should be addressed to Dr Crowell for his consideration.
Dr Helen McArdle
Dr McArdle has withdrawn from clinical practice and no longer consults at Hobart Occupational Medicine.
