During these uncertain times, with restricted interstate travel for visiting medical practitioners, there have been additional demands on the practice, particularly for medico-legal appointments with Dr Sharman.
Dr Sharman has been involved with the Tasmanian Foundation for Occupational Medicine in the development of response plans should Tasmania experience the problems being witnessed in Victoria. Dr Crowell has been able to provide valuable assistance in assessing newly-referred patients, however the practice is struggling to meet demand for medico-legal appointments.
While we are able to book routine assessment appointments for early 2021, should a legal firm, employer or insurer require an appointment for an independent medical assessment in the next few months, we encourage them to register the request with reception (62240935 or email reception@201davey.com.au) and provide information about the type of assessment requires, likely complexity and the urgency of the appointment.
We anticipate that the practice will be able to advise about the availability of additional medico-legal appointments in early September 2020. We will endeavour to give priority where there is medical or legal urgency, particularly for workers who are disadvantaged and suffering psychological difficulties or extreme financial hardship.
If there are any urgent matters, ask reception to contact Dr Sharman to facilitate direct discussions about the circumstances.
